Hawold the Howl

Hawold the howl

Hawold grew out of a love of Owls, Yorkshire and spinning.

He is knitted from hand spun yarn from Ryeland sheep bred in Yorkshire.

His name is based on a specific Yorkshire dialect where haitches are placed where there h’are none – as in Hawold the Howl. And his friend Harnon.

Crafts have been shown to be good for mental wellbeing.

We wanted to combine all these things.

We would love you to knit a friend for Hawold. Name him or her and take them on your travels. Please post pictures of your owl and share positive messages. Help us all make this world a better place and improve mental health.
